Apple and Cinnamon Toasties

Ingredients

  • 12 slices wholemeal bread, crusts removed 
  • 1x 425g can apple pie filling or stewed apples
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup sultanas
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Method

  1. Place apple, cinnamon, sultanas and honey in a bowl and mix well.
  2. Using a toasted sandwich maker, place one slice of bread in pan.
  3. Put a spoonful of apple mix in the middle and then another slice of bread on the top and close sandwich maker. Cook until golden brown.
  4. Or place one slice of bread in a non-stick pan with a spoonful of apple mix, place second slice of bread on top and cook both sides until golden brown.

Tips

  • Stewed pears could also work well in this recipe.
