It's not too late to donate to the 2010 World Vision 40 Hour Famine
Sanitarium is proud to be part of the World Vision 40 Hour Famine Student Scholarship programme, which for over 25 years we have sponsored - 30 of the top fundraising schools throughout New Zealand get to send a student to Wellington for a life changing leadership programme.
40 Hour Famine is all about ‘going without for those without’. It is helping to give those who struggle just some basic everyday things that we tend to take for granted, like; safe water, food, healthcare and education.
This year, 40 Hour Famine funds will be used to:
- Supply rainwater tanks at schools - to provide children with clean water.
- Donate school books and bicycles in India - so that children can go to school.
- Provide vegetable seedlings and fish - so that Cambodian children can have nutritious food to eat.
- Distribute HIV / AIDS kits - so that Rwandan caregivers can support people living with HIV and AIDS.
The 40 Hour Famine is New Zealand largest youth fundraising event – to date 2.7 million Kiwis have fundraised over $60 million in 35 years to help those in desperate poverty.
The 40 Hour Famine was held on 21-23 May this year, but it's not too late to donate. Donate to World Vision
